Young Adult Retreat for NCO, August 27-29
Jonathan Wiley (GBC of Columbus) sends an invitation to NCO young adults: “Each year our young adult group has a fall retreat. I’d like to extend an invitation to any young adults in our district. Any singles or young marrieds w/o kids between the ages of 18-40 would be welcome (there is no childcare). Everyone will know (and enjoy) our keynote speaker Ed Lewis, and the theme is: “ON MISSION: Living a Life that Matters.” The retreat will be held at Heartland Conference Retreat Center in Marengo during August 27-29. NCO Small Groups
A meeting of NCO Small Group leaders was held recently at Grace Church of Powell. Every person on the NCO list is invited to participate in a small group that meets regularly for fellowship, encouragement, and prayer. These groups have been the backbone of our District as they build relationships of trust and friendship among our ministers. Hope for Haiti, August 14, Grace Church of Powell
Did you know that $40 can feed 285 people in Haiti? Grace Church of Powell will be hosting a food packing session on August 14 with a goal to fill a 40-foot container with over 280,000 meals for the people of Haiti. We will be joining resources with a Westerville based mission called Lifeline (http://www.lifeline.org/). Lifeline has developed an assembly line like process to package a nutritious rice based meal for the people of Haiti. Lifeline has the ability to ship the food to Haiti where it will be distributed to the people through over 20 different missions. The total cost is about 14 cents per meal.
